Teaching

In my pedagogical work, I attach great importance to a high-quality mastery of the craft, coupled with musical independence and versatility. I always find it very exciting to respond to the different personalities of the young musicians and to help them find their individual path.

Christian Altenburger began his teaching career as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. In 2001 he was appointed professor in Vienna at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst.

Christian Altenburger regularly holds masterclasses, including the International Summer Academy Mozarteum, at the festival Allegro Vivo, the Weimar Masterclasses and Haus Marteau among others.

Online Teaching

While online teaching can never fully replace the richness of live, in-person lessons, it has proven to be an excellent alternative—especially for students spread across different countries or facing the high cost of travel.

The pandemic pushed us all to adapt quickly to digital learning, and it’s a mode of teaching I’m genuinely pleased to continue offering.
