  Since 2006, every year for 4 days, the LOISIUM World of Wine has become a concert hall for chamber music and contemporary music. Literature and poetry do not miss out either and, as readings, have a fixed place in the LOISIARTE Festival. In addition to the great artists, it is above all the location that makes the event something very special. The venue is, firstly, the open-plan visitor centre of the World of Wine and, secondly, the underground Basilica in the walls of the cellar world.

• Culture Prize Lower Austria 2018

  Christian Altenburger was awarded the honorary prize 2018 for outstanding performance in music by the country of Lower Austria

• The Golden Bow

  Christian Altenburger has been awarded with "The Golden Bow " by the Musikfestwoche Meiringen in Switzerland.
  Sponsored by the violin and bow makers school in Brienz, the award honours immense contributions to string playing. Former winners include Isabelle Faust, Quatuor Ebène, Natalia Gutmann and Tabea Zimmermann.
